The next step is where the mark is advertised. This could be post a hearing where the mark is allowed or directly from the examination stage, where the Registrar is convinced with the arguments put forth in the examination response. Alternatively where the Registrar is convinced that there can be no valid objections even in the initial stage of examination, the mark may be ordered to be advertised directly without having to file any response to a examination report. This might majorly happen where the mark is a coined word with no prior similar existing marks.
The mark is subsequently advertised in the Trademark Journal. The Trademark Journal, called TMJ for convenience, is published class-wise every Monday by the Trademark Office.
