Facts of the case:
The complainant is a banking group established way back in 1895 and has various branches all across the globe. They are well known as CIC BANQUE among the customers and have registered the said trademark in France. They also own numerous domain names incorporating the said trademark. The respondent has registered the disputed domain name illegally and without authority in 2012.
Findings & Award:
Disputed domain name identical and confusingly similar to trademark of complainant;
Respondent has no rights or legitimate interest;
Respondent registered the disputed domain name in bad faith;
The respondent has provided wrong email id and contact address in order to hide his identity and this act implies bad faith on part of him right from the time of registration of the disputed domain name.
It was ordered that the disputed domain name be transferred in favour of the complainant.
